The ancient Squarano Estate situated on a gentle hilltop surrounded by vineyards in the heart of the most classical Valpolicella invites its guests to linger a while and to breathe in the landscape, to savour the wines and to sample the local cuisine and appreciate the history of the local area.
Built in the seventeenth century by the noble Fumanelli family one can still admire inscriptions dedicated to the goddess Flora in the temple built by the Romans who planted the first vines here over a thousand years ago.
Besides the elegant surroundings of the villa you will find a rural 17th Century courtyard with archways, wine cellars, old lumber rooms and rustic halls where visitors can taste the wines produced on the estate and sample the local cuisine.
It is possibile to organize artistic events and strolls in the evocative park between the roman ruins, the wine cellars and the vineyards.
Our programme "the colour of taste" includes theme evenings, dinners with the support of the slow food association, concerts and theatrical performances.
The welcome office is able to offer hotel bookings in Relais Chateaux hotels or farmhouses associated with the winery, and we extend the offer to visits and tours of the surrounding area, for example the Garda lake and Verona.
The winery is open from Monday to Friday for wine tastings and direct sales of our products.
On appointment it is possibile to organize:
- Guided visits to the winery and to the vineyards
- Snacks, lunches and dinner
- Artistic and musical events, theme evenings
